Dementia UK appoints the UK’s first 'Consultant Admiral Nurse', Agincare's own Jo Plamer

Agincare, in conjunction with Dementia UK,  have appointed Agincare’s Jo Palmer as the UK’s first 'Consultant Admiral Nurse' as part of the drive to push up the standards of care for high dependency dementia care and clinical nursing care across Agincare’s 12 care homes, live-in care and home care services. 

The future of social care

Former care services minster Paul Burstow (pictured) is chairing a commission on the future of residential care for the think-tank Demos. Over the course of a year, the commission will be developing a vision for the sector fit for the 21st century.

CQC publishes their fourth annual report

On 21st November CQC published their 2012/13 annual report which is their analysis on the way people experience health and adult social care in England. The findings are taken from more than 35,000 inspections, which considers how care is delivered in hospitals, care homes, dental surgeries and in the community, for the period from April 2012 to March 2013.
