Rock Star Awards 2019

The Rock Star Awards celebrate the achievements of young people aged 16–26 across Dorset and Hampshire. They showcase young people that have demonstrated strength, initiative and hard work, sometimes in the face of adversity.

At Agincare, we employ a number of young carers and passionately believe in supporting the development of their careers. We were therefore delighted to sponsor this year’s ‘Young Carer’ award.

Welcome to new care Centre Manager

Welcome to Barry Price to our home. He has now been appointed as Care Centre Manager of Rochester Care Home including The Napier Respite and Day services.

I am sure you are all aware of some of the changes he has already put in place in order to continue to drive Quality standards at Rochester. The building work is coming along well so far, the new Napier unit will be ready very shortly and again you will have noticed work continues to make improvements and refurbishments in the main home. We have recruited new staff and we would like to welcome them to Rochester Care Home.

BBC1 Panorama care home abuse

Panorama on BBC1 last night showed the abuse of vulnerable older people living in care homes where filming took place. The reporting of this has once again raised questions about the care provided in care homes, the systems and leadership that allow such practices to go unnoticed and the challenges of ensuring a competent and ,most importantly, caring staff group.

Apprenticeship Placements at our Weymouth Care Home

As a well established Care Home in Weymouth, the team at Agincourt are keen to encourage future Care Workers into the industry.

As with any business sector, for ‘new recruits’ it is always a daunting task to find out where to get started when seeking opportunities.

To this end, Agincourt has teamed up once again with local training provider ‘Pursuit Training’ and offered another two Apprenticeship Placements following the success of last year’s placement scheme.
