Agincare raise money for Bridport Young Persons Action Trust (BYPAT) charity

Plans to extend the popular West Bay Play Area to provide more facilities for the disabled received an unexpected boost when the organisers were contacted out of the blue by Lorna Vassie, the Administrative Coordinator for Agincare. Lorna and two colleagues, Chloe Arnold and Martin Newport, had undertaken the Kamikaze Run held recently at Mapperton Farm, and had been able to raise funds to donate to the Bridport Young Persons Action Trust (BYPAT) charity.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

During the past few months we have celebrated birthdays and participated in MacMillan Coffee Morning , a big thank you to all of the staff that baked cakes and everyone who attended.

We raised £95.14!

Our staff also participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for ALS. Each particpant donates £3 to charity for having a bucket of ice cold water thrown over them!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Friday 26th August saw Macmillan hold the world’s biggest coffee morning, which here at Trafalgar we were glad to be a part of. We put a spin on our coffee morning by adding doughnuts into the morning, which went down extremely well with all residents and staff! This was not a day to enjoy free food however, as staff, family and friends were all made to donate if they wanted to enjoy a sweet treat.

Open Day at Gainborough Care Home - Summer Fete 21st June 2013

We were lucky with the weather, the sun came out and it was a fun filled, busy day for everyone. We had a bric-a-brac stall, art sale, tombola, raffle, cake sale and a BBQ. A special thank you goes to our fantastic chef Leslie (pictured right) who’s wonderful cake sale made £60. Also, thank you to all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes, and the hard work of the team here at Gainsborough. We had a great turnout with over 50 people attending. The band, the Pastimers played two fantastic sets to get us in the party mood.
